Business Description

New Hampshire B&B Opportunity !

The inn is one of New Hampshire's National Historic Landmarks and is the Birthplace of Salmon P. Chase. Situated on the banks of the picturesque Connecticut River in the heart of The Cornish Colony, with spectacular views of Vermont's Mount Ascutney, this lovely New Hampshire Inn uniquely combines a 1766 Settlement Colony-style house with a fine, circa 1795 Federal-style house.

The Hearthside Group is more than pleased to be able to offer this property for sale to new innkeepers. The inn has a total of 10 guest rooms available, with two rooms completed, one close to completion and the balance needing to be renovated. The common space is large, beautiful and done. The owner's quarters are some of the nicest that we have seen, with two bedrooms/two baths (one with Jacuzzi Tub), cedar closet, a very large kitchen/dining area and a magnificent living room overlooking the back yard.

The grounds are copious, landscaped and include a separate three-bay garage and an attached two car garage. With over 38 acres, there are various patios for guest use and private areas for the owners as well. An apple orchard and a pond complete the very quiet and peaceful surroundings.

We invite you to review the complete E-Brochure at the Business Website.

We encourage you to consider this property and trust you will want to come to visit and feel the promise of what can be.

Growth & Expansion:
Cornish is a popular destination for history buffs and art lovers. The community is home to four covered bridges, including the Cornish-Windsor Bridge, the longest wooden bridge in the United States. In 1885, one of the country's greatest sculptors, Augustus Saint-Gaudens moved to Cornish and was followed in subsequent years by many well-known artists. This eventually led to the establishment of the Cornish Colony, which included Cornish and the nearby communities of Plainfield and Windsor, Vermont. The Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park: https://www.nps.gov/saga/index.htm preserves the home, gardens, and studios of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, one of America's foremost sculptors. This was his summer residence from 1885 to 1897, his permanent home from 1900 until his death in 1907, and the center of the Cornish Art Colony.
